  1. suicide, not eating… the list goes on. what do you do when you are super sad?

  2. Their heart fails and they die or they suicide.

  3. thi swas an answer form answerbag and it was what I was thinking that stress of grieving exacerbates other underlying conditions-

Yes. There are many older married couples who follow one another in death. Grief isn’t listed as the proximate cause of death, but grief quite frequently aggrivates a pre-existing condition.

  4. An already week or worn out heart may not be able to deal with the stress and just stop beating.

  5. There just to sad to go on so the don’t eat or they kill them selves or there body just gives out, it happens in animals to some times when a person dies there dog will die of sadness.

  6. Someone who doesn’t eat doesn’t die of grief but of starvation. Someone who loses the will to live doesn’t die of grief. They just no longer care to continue living.

But in the very few cases that I believe somebody actually might have died of grief, wasn’t really from grief but from old age. I used to work in hospitals and I know of one couple who had been married for over 70 years. They were admitted at almost the same time, but to different areas, even different floors. They each did not know that the other one was there. She passed first but nobody told him of her demise. Without an hour or so, he died too.

It was an odd coincidence, sure. But grief? I don’t think he died of grief. They were just both very, very old and happened to die at almost the same time.

You don’t die of grief and you sure don’t die of a broken heart or I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this!
